This motel opened in Feb 1954. Tragically, the owner, Elmer A. Pierson, passed away only a month later. This motel disappears from the map in the early 1980's as the exits for the newly built I-69 were constructed. The lot is now an off-ramp. If I had to guess, I would say eminent domain was used to acquire the property from the motel owner. Interestingly, there appears to be 2 other structures in the 1955 aerial that could be motels also. I will need to look into that.
