The Starlite Drive-in Restaurant goes back to the 1950's. At some point the name was changed to the Alamo Drive-In. It was run by the Lopez brothers who also owned Nick's Fountain and Grill in town. The Alamo became popular with the local hot-rodders but closed in 1973. After that, it was operating as Alamo Realty as you can see from the 1977 photo. When I first saw the place in 2002, it was Swick's Meats. During that time, there was a "Remember the Alamo" annual cruise in which the old hot-rodders would gather there.
Swick's eventually closed also. The last business running there as of 2022 was Butcher's Row, which was a butcher service for hunters to bring their deer and such. That is also closed. It sits empty as of 2022 but you would never know it was a drive-in as the canopy is gone. It has the "wings" on the canopy similar to Dog n' Suds but I don't think it was one. There was a Dog n' Suds in Coldwater but that was on Marshall St. which I will cover in it's own post.
