The 162-unit Harlan House Motel goes back to the 1950's. A 14 story addition was added in 1961 by the owners, Samuel Gershenson and C. Allen Harlan. It is no longer with us, a parking lot sits on the old site. This motel was part of the Gold Key chain which consisted of Autorama Motel, Harlan House Motel, Park Plaza Motel, Fairlane Inn, Holiday Motel, Capitol Park Motor Hotel, and Hines Park Motel.
