I believe this motel was built in the late 1960's back when Detroit City Airport was still pretty busy. My mom grew up in this area and my uncle was so inspired by the planes he saw flying in around the airport he joined the Flying Tigers in WWII. He later went on to become a private pilot.
From what I can see this place was open in the 2000's on an off. It is now sitting empty and is listed as "permanently closed" on Google Maps as of 2022. It's a shame, this was once a bustling little airport and this place was amazing looking back when it was built.
