Hi, Regarding the Spruce lodge in Cheboygan, I think the current site of the motel is just a couple hundred feet east of the address you have listed. I think its address is 10990 US-23. The remnants of the "Spruce Lodge" sign can be seen in the July 2011 street view on Google Maps Inline image. As of 2024, all that is left was the skeleton of the sign and the stone base.
The address I have for the Spruce Lodge is based on Geotagging data from a photo from Flickr of the sign. I also found an old post card. The historical photography is somewhat inconclusive as to the precise location but I believe this motel was on this stretch of road.
