These lanes opened up in November of 1939. They operated for about 10 years until the alleys were sold off to the Knights of Columbus in Escanaba and moved there. The building that stands at that location today does not resemble the Art Deco design of the alleys so it is either a newer structure of heavily modified. Cedar Street Cinemas is now 2 doors down, which was an empty lot when the bowling alley was operating. The old classic Maytag building across the street is long gone.
