Tuscola County: Govemor Henry H. Crapo, who owned most of the pine land in the area, had the Pere Marquette Railroad from Flint run through his headquarters here, and named the place for his foreman, Thomas Foster, in 1881. Given a post office from July 24, 1882, to May 11, 1883 [Page; PO Archives]
