Lenawee County; a station in Dover Township on the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railroad. Frank Pots began the village by a building store here in 1887. Peter W. Gander became its first postmaster on Oct 2 1888. Named by W. H. Shaw after Cadmus, Kansas [Iva Cleveland, PM; GSM 1889]
