This motel goes back to the 1950s and was operated by William Carlson back then. It also featured a driving range at the time. Back in those days, what is now Old US-23 was a 2-lane highway so there was accessibility to the motel from that. Eventually US-23 came in and the nearest exit was 1 mile north of the motel. That and a fire in 1976 hurt business and it eventually closed. A private residence sits on the lot as of 2025.
