I found a bird's eye view aerial of this location and I wanted to update this listing. Some documentation indicates the address of this motel was 5229 US-31 while others indicated 5251. I believe 5251 was a house used as living quarters back when the place was a more traditional motel. Or, maybe that was the office. Today, the original building is long gone and we have a newer building called Surfside which appears to be condos.
This old motel, or part of it, seems to be a private residence as of 2024. I would say it goes back to the 50's or 60's. It was run by Ellis and Ruth Townsend in the earlier days.
