This hotel has been in Memphis since it's earliest days. It started out as the Knickerbocker apparently. It has burned more times than I can count, once it happened 4 times within 5 days in 1962. It is the building that won't die at this point. How much of the current structure is original is hard to say but it still stands. A business called Joyology has taken it over as of 2023. It was the Memphis pub and many other things prior to that. It had a series of owners, among them Carl Stork (1940's), Phelix Maliszewski, and Gustave Barton (early 1900's). I am sure there were other owners too. In it's heyday it had dining and dancing with live entertainment.
