These lodges started out as cabins in the early 50's or late 40's. It eventually became the site of the Blue Star Motel. The owner of the motel was fighting to save it in 1997 after the township felt the property was too far gone. They came to a compromise agreement in 2000 indicated by the article below. There is now a gym on the site but the old Star sign remains.
