This motel goes back to the 1960's more than likely. There was another motel in this area called the Pike Lake Motel and Restaurant which may have been this place. Or, that could have been the Bates Motel down the street. Or, it could have been a completely different place.
I have included the article regarding the owner of the Pike Lake Motel perishing in a tragic auto accident in 1961 for reference. That is until I get further info. I have a feeling it was one of the motels I am documenting on this stretch as it is not a heavily populated area. Scheall's/Tappen's is closed as of 2023. It is hard to say if it is in good enough shape to re-open but it was still standing as of 2022.
