The Chippewa goes back to the 1960's. It changed hands several times over the years. The owners were (in no particular order): Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Theut, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cheney and Hans Christiansen. There was a review on Tripadvisor from 2015 so it was open then. It is not listed as being open as of 2023. I have also included a photo of an unknown motel a few blocks away that I will eventually identify. It has been demolished but I believe the Chippewa still stands. The Northern Country Inn is also in Rudyard on M-48. I will add an entry for that separately.
