The Parkcrest goes back to 1960 and was started by attorney Anthony A. Vermeuelen. It was a 50 unit motel at the beginning. Sadly, in September of that year, a Detroit man drowned in the pool. By 1964, a bus service was started to transport guests to Detroit Metro Airport. I believe the name change to Parkcrest Inn occurred sometime in the 1990's. It is still operating under that name as of 2023.
