This one gets complicated. There were a few places/addresses known as Indian Trail Lodge in Traverse City. I will document what I have on them here, even though it may end up they were separate and distinct.
There are old post card views of Indian Trail Lodge which show a large rooming house or mansion. I am not sure where that structure was or if it was eventually replaced by what came later. Then we have 877 Munson Ave. It was known as Indian Trail, Cross Creek (the most recent), and Traverse Beach Motel and Condominium.
The odd thing is I found a multi-story building on the historical street views at that location that doesn't look like the old Indian Lodge. Or, what I have the most info on, the version at 2891 Munson Ave (built in 1967), an address that no longer exists. There is ANOTHER structure show on the 1999 aerial of 877 that looks like it could have been the one at 2891, according to the post card photos. Were the addresses on Munson Ave re-numbered at some point? Perhaps.
For now I will just post what I have and keep on the lookout for more definitive info as I go along. The 1980 photos show the office/restaurant/lounge/banquet hall in the foreground closer to the road.
