The Alpine is still operating as of 2022. Looking at the historical aerials, it seems it started small, then by 1957 a larger wing was added which is there today. You can really tell US-12 was once the primary east-west route to Chicago. It is "motel city" all the way down. It's going to take months to get all of these added LOL!
