This place was operated by Floyd and Barbara Burlingame in the early days. The building was on the 1958 aerial photo but I imagine it goes back further than that. Eventually it became Club 65 Bar & Grill but seems to be closed and for sale as of 2025.
The restaurant was mentioned in an article regarding a bank robbery that stated the bank was next door. From what I am seeing on the historical street views, that isn't the case. The newspapers list the State Bank of Standish at 116 N State which is the Sportsman Bar as of 2025. Honestly that doesn't look right either and it isn't next to the old Fort Twining Restaurant either LOL. There is what looks to be a bank building kitty-corner from the restaurant but the address doesn't match up and it has been an insurance joint for many years. Oh well.
