Swissel Inn opened in the 1940's. There were 2 locations, the second one being at 4985 M-25 in 1949. It went through a few owners over the years and a few different formats. It was known for live music and karaoke at different times. I have posted many clippings of some of the bands that played there. The Inn also had great softball teams, both women and men. They won quite a few championships over the years.
Despite all of the previous success, the place became tough to keep going by the 2000's. It eventually closed in 2013. Competition from franchised restaurants was cited as the reason. By 2014, the building was razed. As of 2024 the lot sits empty. There were hundreds of clippings and articles about this place. I couldn't get through them all so I tried to post a nice sampling from each decade.
