I went there in early 1970 when it was clarks motor speedway. Has not changed much in 40 yrs with run down grandstands and gravel walk under grandstands. Some still good dirt racing there.

Some info I found on this track:
The track was named Ionia Raceway Park for the year 2004, then reverted to I-96 Speedway for 2005. The track has also previously operated as Ionia County Speedway, Clark's Motor Speedway, and New 96 Speedway. The 3/8 mile inner oval was 1/4 mile, but was redone in 2005 and is now a bit larger.

Went out to watch the World of Outlaws Sprints there a few weeks ago. The action was great. I was surprised that there is not a fence along the back stretch even though the track is up against a corn field, which would make the possibility of intrusion from animals a problem.The track looks pretty nice. The stands are showing their age. I hadn't been out there since the track was called Clark Motor Speedway way back when. I have some pics that I will submit at a later date.

I-96 Speedway will be running Non-Wing sprints on certain nights. If youve never seen a Non-Wing sprints you should see these cars run. I was the Tech Insp for a 360 sprint group years ago & I really enjoy the Non-Wing racing. Check out TJ Slideways if you like Sprint Car racing they have a link to I-96 web site.
